League Entry Applications – Mid Ulster Football League

The Management Committee of the Mid Ulster Football League welcomes applications from clubs seeking entry to the League for the forthcoming season.

Clubs may apply for entry at Intermediate, Junior, or Reserve level, as appropriate. All applications must be submitted in writing to the MUFL Honorary Secretary. Contact details are available on the Committee page of the MUFL website.

In accordance with MUFL Rules, applications must be received on or before 15 June each year.

Mandatory Entry Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate their ability to meet the following core requirements:

  • Suitable home ground access, including changing and showering facilities, and a private, enclosed playing area
  • A formal Club Constitution, supported by a structured and active Club Management Committee
  • Competent financial planning and management
  • Adequate transport, administration, and communication resources to ensure effective operation throughout the season

Additional Considerations

While not mandatory, preference may be given to clubs that can provide evidence of:

  • Minimal or no detrimental impact on existing MUFL member clubs’ playing numbers
  • At least one year’s experience competing as an organised football team or club
  • A Code of Conduct in place and adhered to by all players and members
  • A strong or near‑impeccable disciplinary record

Reserve Division Note:
Teams finishing top of Reserve Division 1 should note that this does not guarantee automatic promotion to the Reserve Championship. Clubs must apply for entry and meet the required criteria for that division.

Assessment Process

The selection process consists of:

  1. Documentary evidence supporting the criteria listed above (submitted with the application or as supplementary appendices)
  2. A two‑way interview with the MUFL Management Committee, allowing both parties to discuss suitability and expectations

Important Information

One of the core aims of the Mid Ulster Football League is to foster Association Football under the auspices of the Irish Football Association and within the geographical area of the Mid Ulster Football Association.

The number of vacancies at Intermediate, Junior, and Reserve levels may vary each season depending on league configuration and prevailing circumstances. In exceptional cases, the MUFL may be unable to offer any vacancies.

The Management Committee reserves the right to make such determinations to protect the integrity of the League and the best interests of existing member clubs.
