Congratulations to our League Vice‑Chairman and former Mid Ulster FA Chairman, Maurice Johnston, on his appointment as First Deputy President at this week’s Irish Football Association AGM.
This is a proud moment for both the Mid Ulster Football League and the Mid Ulster Football Association, and a fitting recognition of Maurice’s long‑standing service to the game at grassroots, intermediate, and association level.
Maurice becomes the first MUFA representative to hold IFA office in 23 years, following the passing of former IFA Vice President Ivan Marshall, who originally brought Maurice onto the MUFA Council and mentored him in his early years of service. Maurice has since been a central figure within Mid Ulster football, serving multiple terms on the MUFA Council and contributing significantly to the development of the game across the region.
We also extend our warm congratulations to Colin McKendry on his appointment as President and David Morrow on his election as Second Deputy President.
We wish all three every success as they begin their new roles within the Irish Football Association.
